I've had this pic hanging around from middle of last year. XD I totally fugged Chie up, but En's hair is probably the best thing I did all last year. Stupidly of course, Chie is my OC - En is Mae's. -_-;; Just thought I would upload this for kicks - I was all hyper about the Naruto Original Nin design competition over at the Club this month, but couldn't finish a proper sub of Chie in time. This month has seriously not been good for me. ^^;; Oh well, at least this way I can work on my NFC rank and give my boy a better position. XD Terrible scan, terrible cop-out Photoshop stuffness. XD;;

Chopped-up bio for the record. X3 : [This is where you can file away disinterestedly. XD]

Summary :
If they showed up in the show, they'd be the 'villains-of-the-subarc'. ^^;; The Fukairyuu Kyoudai, Chie at top left [21 years old], En at bottom right [16]. The brothers are an inseperable unit. Their loyalty at the moment belongs to Sound Village and Orochimaru, but it is a temporary alliance of convenience. They fulfill their missions as duty befits, but their motivations stem from their personal agenda.

Personality :
Chie of the two is the levelheaded one, tactiturn and reserved. Imperturbable, he prefers to survey the situation and react accordingly. Although unfailingly polite, he seems distant. He does not favour unnecessary bloodshed, but is ruthless as the case befits. En, on the other hand, is arrogant and brash. Bloodthirsty, he revels in the fight. He enjoys the limelight, and detests figures of authority. Coupled with a devil's disregard for his personal safety, these bold strokes of his character can land him in complicated situations.

Fighting style :
Both the brothers are skilled in the usual arts - it is where their bloodline ability comes in that requires explanation [a.k.a. I'm lazy.]

En -
Jiryuuka [no Jutsu] - the Fuukairyuu signature ability. Jiryuuka enables the user to slow down the passing of time in his immediate field. Effect decreases with distance - making its coupled techniques close combat ones of out neccesity. Opponents perceive this effect as that of the user maintaining a hyperspeed in combat, though in reality the user is moving at normal speed, and the opponents at suppressed speed - spectators from a distance would observe this. The slowing down is fair to moderate at best, total suppression is impossible. Jiryuuka is very much a physical combat skill, and most users develop high speed and agility to enhance its use. It has no effect on another Fukairyuu.
Weapon - In addition to his jutsu, En's weapon of choice is a claw glove that fits over his right hand.
Style - En highly favours physical combat, his speed, strength, stamina and agility are well-honed due to constant training. In battle, he knows no restraint. He favours taijutsu, and rarely uses genjutsu.

Chie -
Kairyuu - Resulting from experimental manipulation [explained in the obligatory sobstory history], Chie cannot perform Jiryuuka, and has Kairyuu instead as his signature jutsu. Kairyuu is the reversal of time - it is a last ditch jutsu that comes with personal cost yadda yadda. Turning time back in small periods can usually be managed with simple chakra and energy loss, but Kairyuu is at any rate not much of a combat technique and not something Chie cares to use often.
Three-second Clairvoyance - is more his combat speciality. As a side effect of the aforementioned experiments, Chie, when deprived of sight, experiences a clairvoyance of three seconds ahead. As long as his vision is obscured, his sight is projected three seconds into the future. [A negative effect is that he loses the first three seconds when he first obscures his vision. So if he closes his eyes and can see nothing, that's a really bad sign... XD] I've sat down to think about this, and I realise it's really asking for a major headache, because he's seeing three seconds in the future, having to act in the present, and in any case, how can he properly sleep if he sees the future when he closes his eyes? O_o Er. I suppose one gets used to it...
Weapon - When more intense physical combat is required, Chie favours a glass-shard coated cord weighted at both ends, serving rather a garotte-like purpose.
Style - Chie prefers not to get his hands dirty. En revels in combat, and Chie is more than happy to let him handle the actual bits. His clairvoyance allows him to avoid attacks rather easily, and he usually only gets physical when he has to. Prefers genjutsu to ninjutsu and taijutsu.

History : [blah blah blah.]
Though the Fukairyuu's signature Jiryuuka is an ideal combat technique, somewhere along the way the line eventually abandoned the ninja business for a more academic existence as scholars and researchers, preferring to use the Jiryuuka for an extended night of research than to stab people through at their own convenience. As usual, in the times of war and all that, they were usually rather penniless scholars and could do nuts while they were at it, and the line gradually dwindled into decay. In this fashion, Fukairyuu Ishiko was a rather pretty but otherwise unremarkable...ah...waitress [until further notice. XD]. Thus, when she was chosen by a rich [minor] lord to be his lawful wife, she was enthralled. The lord was the medieval equivalent of a scientist by trade, successful enough to maintain his family's traditionally sizeable assets. Unknown to Ishiko [not that much was actually known to Ishiko. Nice gel, but not too bright.], the lord was still totally devoted to his first wife - the problem being that she was dead. While not remarkably evil or anything at birth, he'd lost a few of his marbles and morals when the love of his life died, and was obsessed with bringing her back no matter what the cost. Research had turned up the records of the Fukairyuu clan and their abilities. He believed that manipulation via experimentation [hey, if Orochimaru can do it... XD] could produce a child capable of reversing the flow of time to when she was alive. Ishiko was thus wed. Their first child was born not long after; to show his love, the lord let Ishiko name her firstborn [for the record, she named him Ishiki, because she liked it and it sounded like Ishiko. -_-;;] Experiments were started as soon as possible, skilled nin were hired to give the child a ninja education [...er...because it would aid him in controlling his chakra, which the lord projected would be needed for the intended ability. Right.]. Because it seemed initially a looming success, a second child was only born 11 years later. This one, she named 'Chie'. The child was similarly trained in ninja arts from an early age. Experiments were not yet begun, he progressed more academically, shyly idolising his kind but distant brother. At the age of 15, the experiments on Ishiki revealed a faulty end - instead of being able to reverse time, Ishiki could absorb the lifeforce of others by will and target alone, redistributing it as he wished. Maiming with his newfound powers, the gentle Ishiki thought himself a monster and fled the city with the help of his distraught mother. Experiments were immediately begun on Chie [at around this time, En was conceived.]. Armed with experience from Ishiki's case, progress on Chie was astounding - a side-effect that was apparent early on was the onset of his three-second precog; another side effect that was readily apparent as the experiments neared their end was that Chie could now only cry tears of blood. This rather understandably freaked Ishiko out, and it occurred to her that something really was wrong with her husband and the whole situation [you know how it is - first son sucks life? Must have been a silly mistake. Second son cries blood? Hey...wait a minute...]. When the experiments were finally concluded, the results revealed that while the aim of time reversal ability had been achieved, the scale was not large enough to reverse time till that of the lord's desire. The third child was due to be born. Ishiko knew that this child would be a one-time key to her husband's dream, and thus on the night of full-term, took her second son and fled with him. Ishiko was badly disfigured during the run, and the trauma brought about labour. The child was successfully delivered, and all three managed to escape to a secluded and relatively safe region, but Ishiko'd just about gone round the bend by then. She named her last son 'En', a symbol of her hate. For six years, the three of them eke out a poor living. Ishiko teetered between motherly adoration and insane rage, the former of which she lavished on En and the latter on Chie, largely due to Chie's careful machinations involving his clairvoyance, to provide En a half-way normal experience of motherly love. Having fantastically and wonderfully mastered the way of the ninja and all that before they'd fled the fort ala every other insanely talented person in Naruto, Chie taught and tranined En in the same arts and academics. When En was six, Ishiko up and vanished without a trace. They spend the next ten years training their skills, wandering the globe, killing people to order, and recently hooked up with Sound Village, which brings us to the now.

Agenda :
Thus, not very suprisingly, their agenda is to find their mother. *Ta-dah* Or rather, En wants to find their mother. He fiercely believes that she is still alive, and did not mean to abandon them, and that if only they find her, everything will be alright. Underneath that blood-besplattered exterior, he's really a mother's boy. Awww. Chie has his reservations. He doubts she is still alive, and fears that En will be crushed if they find her and En finds out that the family relationship isn't exactly the childhood rainbow-iro vision he dimly remembers. But he searches for her to appease En, and to fulfil his fillial duty if she were indeed still alive.

Relationship with each other :
Totally devoted to each other. Chie takes care of En in all aspects, and sometimes seems to exist solely for him. En, though governed by his selfish desires, is fiercely protective of Chie, and adores him even if he won't admit it. X3

And there! That's about it! The abridged version... XD Come June, I'll properly submit Chie as my original nin. ^^;; Let's see if there's anyway in all blue hell I'll be able to get to Jounin rank by then... XDDDDD

Extra stuff :
So what happened to Ishiki? - That's where the story takes a kick up the ass and starts moving. XD [i.e. If my lazy ass ever gets around to it, a lot. X3;;]
What's with that bandage around Chie's eyes that's terribly drawn and looks nothing like a bandage? - It's part of his everyday battle/mission gear - blocks his sight to activate his clairvoyance. Also, his eyes bleed when he uses 'Kairyuu', so he might as well avoid the potential mess.
What's up with all these ridiculous Japanese names?! XD - This is a big one. ^^; It would never work outside of Naruto, all these names are so. damn. obvious. But every other name in Naruto is just as punny if not worse, so for once I write fearless. XD

Approx. trans :
Fukairyuu [ •s‰ñ—¬ ] - [It] does not flow back [referring to the time control of the line - they can suppress it, but cannot make reverse it. Time flows forward only.]
Ishiko [ ˆËŽjŽq ] - A lesser-used girl's name, with connotations of child-who-relies-on-history.
Ishiki [ ˆÓޝ ] - Consciousness [like a sense of self]
Chie [ ’qŒd ] - Wisdom
En [ ‰… ] - Hate [resentment]
Jiryuuka [ Žž—¬‰º ] - Suppression [slowing down] of timeflow
Kairyuu [ ‰ñ—¬ ] - Flow back [reversal of flow] [This jutsu goes against the whole grain of the Fukairyuu code. Time should only flow forward.]

...When it looks funny, that's when I pick the kanji individually and it works only in archaic and/or esoteric ways. XD;;

edit : Aaaaactually. It seems that when it literally looks funny, that's when the WinXP Japanese support input refuses to be decoded by any language encoding. ^^;;;

Ooooo... pretty... O.o

I really like the soft quality of the pic, almost as if there's a thin layer of tissue paper on top of the image. It's bright and soft, yet sharp and clean at the same time. Adding to the " layering" effect is the larger, faded back characters in the top right corner.

Everything about the image itself says " soft", even if the characters are quite firmly there and not soft in any way. After reading the bios I went back up and stared at them for a while... yeah, I can see their personalities in their expressions, though it's muted. En's especially; that little smile promises something we might not like. ^.^;;;

Lovely image... It may be a cop-out, but the effect is still rather nice.

Gah, the bios are WAAAY too long for me to read :\ But the pictures is awesome! I love the soft glowy feel of it! It makes me all fuzzy on the inside...not moldy fuzzy, like, new teddy bear fuzzy.

Chie's personality befits his name. Don't worry; NFC has an original nin design twice a year ^^
I'm sure you'll be able to finish it up by then :heart:
